DALLAS (April 20, 2010) - Barrier Advisors, a nationally recognized middle-market restructuring, operations improvement and special situations investment banking firm, announces the promotion of Justin Adendorff to vice president. Adendorff is based out of the company's headquarters in Dallas.

Adendorff has more than five years of experience, serving on both the company and creditor side in numerous industries including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, health care, entertainment, industrial machinery, energy, utilities and packaging. He has worked in interim management, turnaround & operating consulting, restructuring advisory and investor due diligence.

"The current economic environment makes it important for companies to rely on partner firms that are skilled in helping businesses attain more profitable and sustainable performance," said Kent Laber, senior managing director of Barrier Advisors. "Justin has played an essential role in providing strategic counsel to clients undergoing a range of restructuring issues. This promotion recognizes the significant contributions he continues to make on behalf of Barrier's clients."

"With three main practice specialties of financial restructuring, operations improvement, and M&A advisory, Barrier provides a unique value proposition for clients through complementary functional experience, broad industry experience, and talented cross-functional teams," said Adendorff.

Prior to joining Barrier Advisors, Adendorff was involved in strategic planning and financial analysis for Energy Future Holdings Corporation (formerly TXU). Among his duties at TXU, he handled the modeling and execution of the $45 billion leveraged buyout of the company by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. Adendorff graduated with an M.S. in finance from Tulane University, and has successfully completed the required examinations and is awaiting licensure for both the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter, and is working to complete the requirements for the Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) certification and the Certification in Distressed Business Valuation (CBDV).
