Barrier Advisors Continues to Expand Its Investment Banking Capabilities

DALLAS (September 20, 2011) - Barrier Advisors, a Dallas-based financial and operational advisory firm, has announced the appointments of Gene Wallace, as Managing Director, and Barrett Kingsriter, as Vice President. This move strengthens its mergers and acquisitions capabilities and is part of the firm’s ongoing expansion of its investment banking services for the middle market.

“Gene and Barrett complement our investment banking team. They bring solid industry knowledge, strong industry relationships, and deep experience in merger and acquisition strategy and execution that meet our clients’ growing and evolving needs,” said Harrison Price, Senior Managing Director and President of Barrier Advisors.

Gene Wallace brings close to 30 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience to Barrier Advisors. He joined from Commerce Street Capital, LLC where he was Senior Managing Director, Investment Banking-Corporate Finance, in the Capital Markets Division. Prior to this he held a similar role at SAMCO Capital Markets, Inc. and prior to SAMCO he was head of Corporate Finance at Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, now RBC Capital Markets, and Lehman Brothers in Dallas. Mr. Wallace has worked on a variety of complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt placements, and specialty finance transactions across a broad range of industries.

Barrett Kingsriter joined from Commerce Street Capital, LLC where he was Vice President, Investment Banking-Corporate Finance, in the Capital Markets Division and focused on mergers, acquisitions and private placements. Prior to this he was an Analyst with SAMCO Capital Markets, Inc. where he was involved in private placements and investment analysis for private equity funds. Mr. Kingsriter is a licensed attorney in the state of Texas.

In another move to expand its investment banking services, Barrier Advisors recently strengthened its mergers and acquisitions, capital procurement and financial advisory services through the addition of former NexCapital’s Investment Banking Group. Barrier Advisors also provides corporate restructuring and operational advisory services, creating a comprehensive offering for both well performing and financially distressed middle-market companies and their stakeholders.
