, Operations Associate - Barrier Advisors
Mr. Narayanan has over 7 years of experience in developing and deploying operations improvement initiatives for automotive, appliance, heavy equipment and building products manufacturing companies. He joined Barrier Advisors after graduating from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Prior to business school, he led the operations transformation at Putzmeister Inc, a world leading manufacturer of construction equipment. Before that, he led the lean transformation at a multi-facility Tier-1 injection molder supplying automotive and appliance OEMs.
Mr. Narayanan has deep expertise in implementing principles of Toyota Production System (TPS). He spent two years at the University of Kentucky's Center for Manufacturing researching and practicing the TPS philosophy. He also gained direct experience at Toyota's Supplier Improvement Division where he led initiatives to assess and improve supplier performance.
Mr. Narayanan is a seasoned facilitator and has led several high impact improvement initiatives involving personnel from all levels of the organization. His recent engagements include implementation of safety system, maintenance system and standardized processes for a multi-facility building products manufacturer.
Mr. Narayanan is a Six Sigma Black Belt and is certified in Lean Systems. He holds an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, a Masters degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from University of Kentucky with a specialization in Lean Operations and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management with specializations in Strategy, Marketing and Analytical Consulting.
