David O'Hanna - Director - Barrier Advisors

Mr. David O’Hanna is an Operations Director at Barrier Advisors. Previously he worked for Highland Capital Management as a Senior Operations Analyst in their Private Equity Group. His leadership as interim Director of Logistics at a tissue manufacturer and converter was instrumental in achieving rapid financial turnaround in only 6 months. Additional assignments included Interim Plant Manager during wind down for a plastics injection molding Portfolio Company and continuous improvement projects for the Chief Operating Officer at an Aerospace portfolio company and a direct sales company.

Prior to joining Highland in May 2006, Mr. O’Hanna was employed by United Parcel Service. During his 20 year tenure he held various job titles including Industrial Engineering Section Leader, On-road Supervisor and Business Manager, each with complete multi million dollar P&L responsibilities. He is an expert in driving business unit level execution of company strategies and also specializes in training, coaching and developing business unit supervisors to achieve increased performance and to lead vigorous cost reduction efforts through waste elimination. During his management years, Mr. O’Hanna was awarded #1 on the balance scorecard, a UPS quarterly performance measuring tool, over 15 consecutive times in South Florida.

Mr. O’Hanna is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Green Belt. His 200+ specialized training courses, from labor relations to internal business processes to hazardous waste, contribute to his significant operations knowledge. Mr. O’Hanna is a graduate of Lynchburg College, Lynchburg Virginia with a BA in Business Administration.
