Mr. Jones has more than 20 years of experience as an investment banker and restructuring advisor. Prior to joining Barrier Advisors, Mr. Jones managed the Distressed Investment Banking practice of the New York restructuring firm Loughlin Meghji+Company. Prior to this, he was co-founder of McDonald Investments' Restructuring Services Group.
Mr. Jones is currently representing Triad Resources as the company's restructuring advisor. He has represented BP Exploration & Oil in the divestiture of Procare, a major Wall St. investment bank in the distressed note sale of a gasoline wholesaler and retailer and has raised equity capital for Coda Energy. Outside of energy he has represented the debtors in the Vista Eyecare, Homeland Stores, Republic Engineered Products and Gibson Homans bankruptcies and in the out-of-court exchange offers or restructurings of Teton Energy, Clearly Canadian, PTCAlliance, Woods Equipment and Norstan.
Mr. Jones's creditor clients include the senior lenders in Fedders, Fill-Ups Food Stores, Robotic Vision Systems Inc, General Chemical Industries, Home Interiors & Gifts and AT Plastics. Mr. Jones has represented the Official Committees of Unsecured Creditors of Bethlehem Steel, Orthodontics Centers of America, Tokheim and divine. In all, Mr. Jones has completed more than 100 restructurings, M&A transactions and financings, half of which were in underperforming and distressed situations. Noteworthy transactions over Mr. Jones investment banking career include the start-up financing of Office Max, the initial public offerings of Mr. Coffee and LESCO, the sales of Algan to BFGoodrich Company, Wayn-Tex to Mohawk Industries, and the distressed sale of Tyson Foods' supplier Heartland Pork Enterprises to Christensen Farms.
Mr. Jones holds a BBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and has a Certification in Distressed Business Valuation (CDBV). He has been qualified as a valuation or sale process expert in bankruptcy courts in the Northeast, Midwest, and Southern US and has spoken on the subjects of second lien restructurings, asset sales and distressed investing at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, The University of Texas Law School Mergers & Acquisitions Institute, The Association for Investment Management and Research, The American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association.
