Mr. Jones is a recognized expert in the valuation, financing and sale of public and private companies, with more than 20 years of experience as an investment banker and restructuring advisor.
Prior to joining Barrier Advisors, Mr. Jones managed the Midwest office and the Mergers & Acquisitions practice of New York based Loughlin Meghji+Company. Prior to this role, he was co-founder of McDonald Investments’ Restructuring Services Group and prior to that was a Managing Director in McDonald Investments’ Mergers & Acquisitions Group.
His clients have ranged from large-cap public companies such as Exelon and British Petroleum (BP America) to mid-cap companies such as Vista Eyecare and Homeland Stores and small cap companies such as Clearly Canadian and LESCO. Noteworthy transactions over Mr. Jones investment banking career include the start-up financing of Office Max, the initial public offerings of Mr. Coffee and LESCO, the US equity financing of Lasik Vision of Canada, the concurrent public equity and private convertible bond offerings of Hein-Werner Corporation, the sales of Algan to BFGoodrich Company, Wayn-Tex to Mohawk Industries, and Tyson Foods supplier Heartland Pork Enterprises to Christensen Farms. In all, Mr. Jones has completed more than 100 M&A transactions, financings, and restructurings.
Mr. Jones holds a BBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He completed the Securities Industry Institute at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with honors, is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He has provided expert witness testimony in Bankruptcy Court and has spoken on the subjects of asset sales and distressed investing at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, the Association for Investment Management and Research, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association.
