Kent Laber - Senior Managing Director

Mr. Kent Laber is a Senior Managing Director at Barrier Advisors. He leads the firm and has been providing companies and creditor groups with restructuring, consulting and accounting advice for more than 18 years. Mr. Laber’s experience includes turnaround consulting, restructuring advisory, bankruptcy, mergers and acquisitions advisory; including 363 sales as well as buy-side and investor due diligence. Representative engagements and transactions include: Marcal Paper Mills, Fedders Corporation, Millennium Digital Media, Thayer Aerospace, Trussway Holdings, Cone Mills Corporation, Galey & Lord, Inc., Moll Industries, Inc., Prime Succession, Inc., Wickes, Inc., Manco Products, Inc., Acme Packaging Corporation, Metrocall Wireless, Snelling Personnel Services, and Georges/Quik-To-Fix Foods, Inc. He has also provided expert testimony in Bankruptcy Court and been a speaker at the AIRA Annual Conference.

Prior to joining Barrier Advisors in 2001, Mr. Laber was a principal member of PricewaterhouseCoopers' (PwC) Business Recovery Practice, where he focused on creation and execution of turnaround and restructuring strategies. He was also selected to serve in the Chairman's office, where he developed PwC strategy, implemented the merger of Pricewaterhouse with Coopers & Lybrand, and negotiated international profit-sharing agreements.

Mr. Laber received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA in finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), and Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA); and member of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, American Bankruptcy Institute, the Turnaround Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
