ROSS B. WAETZMAN

Mr. Waetzman has over ten years of professional service experience in the areas of financial advisory, business assessments, and the creation and evaluation of strategic alternatives. He has experience throughout the US and Europe in various industries including automotive, construction, consumer electronics manufacturing, financial institutions, food & beverage, health care, higher education, hospitality, media, professional services, real estate, steel, and telecommunications.

Mr. Waetzman has extensive experience in corporate finance. He has advised on buy- and sell-side M&A engagements involving both public and private equity, sell-side privatizations, and primary issuance of both public and private debt offerings. Much of his experience includes cross-border transactions.

In the area of financial restructuring, Mr. Waetzman has advised creditors during out-of-court restructurings, provided guidance on lending strategies, and advised on the acquisition of companies emerging from Chapter 11 through a Section 363 sale. In addition, he has advised debtor management on turnaround initiatives, including sourcing new capital, strategic sales, large-scale staff reduction, and cost rationalization through supplier negotiations. Mr. Waetzman has also provided debtor-side advisory for a management team seeking to develop a comprehensive strategic plan for a universal service bank.

Before joining Barrier Advisors, Mr. Waetzman was a member of CSFB’s Investment Banking Department where he worked on cross-border buy- and sell-side M&A, privatizations, and primary debt issuance assignments. In addition, he was a member of Ernst & Young’s Corporate Finance Group where he worked on both M&A and financial restructuring assignments. Mr. Waetzman was also a generalist consultant at A.T. Kearney where he worked on both strategy and operations projects.

Mr. Waetzman holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Drexel University and a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in finance and competitive strategy from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester.
